Need Medical Help

I am a 40 year old woman. I was diagnosed in April 2010 with water weight in my calves. She never asked about what medications I was on at all during my doctor appointment. I was on Lisinopril HCTZ 10-12.5 up until Memorial Day week when I practically begged my physician to help me. I am now on Lisinopril 10mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 25mg. It worked for a week sorta with a little less pressure on my lungs. Now, I felt pressure on my lungs on Saturday. I feel like I am drowning in my own body at 250 pounds. I have had water weight since my teens. I am on a busy public bus line which goes to and from a major city. How can I get my doctor to take me seriously? I am too young at age 40 to die from drowning in my own body due to water weight.

A Hiking Story

I decided to travel to my local park this afternoon to relax and have fun for a few hours. I tried something new while there. I decided to try the water bike for 30 mnutes by myself. It is a bike built for two. I had trouble with it from the beginning. I did have fun with it after I finally got the hang of it. I also went on a hike. I did come across one insensitive woman while on the trail. She told me to lose weight. Like that would happen so easy. She did not know my medical condition, and she probably thought I was just fat. I have a lot of water weight. Overall, I had a great time.

Medical Rantings and More

I have been in slight pain all day today in my right shoulder. It did not stop me from finishing my fourth book this afternoon. I decided having all of my challenges that I would not let my medical conditions stop me from writing or my volunteer work. I enjoy being a volunteer parent educator helping parents of newly diagnosed children find the resources they need to help their children. I have been doing it for almost fourteen years, and I love doing every minute of it. It always feels great helping other people in life find the resources they need.

Observing People

I love observing people when I go out each day. I encounter some of the most amazing people at times. People sometimes talk to me during the process of my observing them. It is totally amazing at times. I watched one person cross his arms when I was watching him instead of a presentation today. I had another person approach me earlier this year at a restaurant and had an interesting conversation for a while that evening. His reaction this evening was totally amusing to me.

Tales From the Neighborhood

I went out to lunch today just like I normally do at my favorite buffet restaurant. If you have seen my picture, you think that I am obese. I have a water retention problem which makes me look fat until you examine me further. I have to drink high calorie beverages to keep my calorie intake up.

The restaurant manager pulled me aside for a question. He asked me about yesterday. I ate out with my younger brother and my mother at the restaurant for breakfast. They both drink water. I ordered the beverage bar. The beverage bar is for an additional fee to the buffet.

I had a feeling this might happen. I do not use the same glass twice at buffets. I am careful about passing on germs. The restaurant staff probably thought my brother and mother were drinking more than just water. It was due to the restaurant staff not taking away used glasses that often despite me putting them near the edge of the table on a regular basis.

I had a feeling his question was about yesterday. I explained my dietary problems due to having problems digesting gluten. I told him I used the beverage bar. I also told him about my mother and brother only wanting water.

I felt relieved when he backed off on the question fast. He was satisfied with my answer. I have a feeling it might happen again in the near future maybe.

Importance of Email Siggies

I recently changed my email signature to include my author website. I have noticed an increase in traffic once in a while from a curious person wondering what I write about. It is also in my message board signature also. I spend a lot of time in the message boards geared towards parents of disabled children. I have helped a number of people over the years with resources.
